CATHEDRAL CLERIC TAKES PART IN THE SOLEMN PAPAL MASS

Priest Euphrassiy, a cleric of Holy Trinity Cathedral, represented the Diocese of Korsun at the Mass celebrated by Pope Leo XIV in Paris on 26 September 2026. He took part as a member of an inter-Christian delegation, at the invitation of the Archbishop of Paris and of the President of the Bishops’ Conference of France, and with the blessing of Metropolitan Mark of Korsun and Western Europe, Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe. The Mass was celebrated on the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Élysées as part of the Pope’s visit to France.
Around 800,000 faithful were present, among them some 110 bishops and about 2,400 priests and deacons. Five hundred thousand hosts had been prepared for Communion, and the area given over to the celebration stretched for three kilometres.

The homily of Pope Leo XIV was devoted to thirst for God and to the spiritual search of people today. The Pope spoke of Christ as the source of living water, of bearing witness to the faith, and of the place of the family and of young people in the Church, calling for hope and peace to be carried to others.
During the days of the visit of the head of the Roman Catholic Church to Paris, several Catholic bishops came to Holy Trinity Cathedral for the first time, on their own initiative, and took away warm and kind impressions of their first acquaintance with the cathedral on the quai Branly.

Pope Leo XIV’s visit to France runs from 25 to 28 September.
