METROPOLITAN MARK LEADS THE VIGIL ON THE EVE OF THE LEAVE-TAKING OF THE EXALTATION OF THE CROSS

On the evening of Saturday 3 October 2026, Metropolitan Mark of Korsun and Western Europe, Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, led the All-Night Vigil at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Paris. The cathedral clergy concelebrated.
The Vigil was served on the eve of the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost and of the leave-taking of the feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord.
The leave-taking brings to a close the celebration of the Exaltation, which began on 26 September. At the end of the Divine Liturgy on that day, the Cross, which had been brought out to the centre of the church on the eve of the feast, is censed three times, carried into the sanctuary and laid on the holy table.
