ON THE FIRST SATURDAY OF GREAT LENT, THE PATRIARCHAL EXARCH CELEBRATED THE LITURGY IN THE CATHEDRAL

March 8 is Saturday of the first week of Great Lent, the day of veneration of the Holy Great Martyr Theodore Tyrone (+306).
On this day, the Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun and Western Europe, celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom in the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity in Paris.
The archpastor was assisted by the rector of the Spiritual and Educational Center named after St. Genevieve of Paris, Hieromonk Irenaeus (Gribov), the vice-rector of the center, Hieromonk Peter (Smirnov), the rector of the Peter and Paul Church in Saronno (Italy), Archpriest Vasily Beletsel, Priest Daniil Naberezhny, Priest Francois Espere, Deacon Roman Onika, Deacon Philip Markov and Deacon Vyacheslav Li.
During the service, which was conducted entirely in French, the choir of the Spiritual and Educational Center under the direction of A. Akhuba sang.
During the Liturgy, Metropolitan Nestor awarded the cleric of the church of the Spiritual and Educational Center, priest Francois Espere, the right to wear a nabedrennik and kamilavka, and tonsured student of the Spiritual and Educational Center Maxim Belyaev as a subdeacon.
The sermon before the communion of the laity was delivered by Hieromonk Peter.
At the end of the Liturgy, the Patriarchal Exarch addressed those gathered under the vaults of the cathedral with an archpastoral word in French.
