MEMORIAL EVENING IN HONOR OF THE 160TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF GRAND DUCHESS ELIZABETH FEODOROVNA

On May 6, 2025, the Russian Spiritual and Cultural Orthodox Center hosted festive events dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna Romanova.

The memorial evening was preceded by a service of prayer to the Holy Martyr Elizabeth and Nun Barbara in the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The service was performed by the dean of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Priest Maxim Politov, co-served by Archpriest Nikolai Rebinder and Archpriest Georgy Mashtaler.

After the service, the opening of an exhibition of archival photographs, “The Life of Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna. The Path of Holiness,” took place in the building of the Spiritual and Cultural Center, as well as a concert, “A Road Full of Light,” during which a student of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography, Natalia Thompson, and Moscow jeweler Pyotr Aksyonov read letters and memoirs about the Grand Duchess. During the musical part of the concert, the young French pianist Hugo Martin performed works by outstanding Russian composers Sergei Rachmaninoff, Alexander Scriabin, and Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

At the end of the concert, the guests of the evening were offered a festive buffet.
