DIVINE LITURGY ON THE FEAST OF THE APOSTLES PETER AND PAUL
On Saturday, July 12, 2025, the Feast of the Holy Glorious and All-Praised Leaders of the Apostles Peter and Paul, a festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Paris.
The Liturgy was presided over by the cathedral’s dean, Priest Maksim Politov, concelebrated by Hieromonk Peter (Smirnov), Vice-Rector of the Paris Theological Seminary, together with the cathedral clergy: Hieromonk Ioann (Guaita), Priest Daniil Naberezhny, and Protodeacon Nikolai Rebinder.
The homily after the Communion hymn was delivered by Hieromonk Ioann.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the clergy performed the rite of glorification in honor of the Holy Apostles, whose martyrdom, as well as the translation of their holy relics to Rome in 258, the Holy Church commemorates prayerfully on this day.
Afterwards, Priest Maksim Politov addressed the faithful with a sermon, in which he warmly congratulated Hieromonk Peter on the feast of his heavenly patron and presented him with a pectoral cross from the time of Emperor Paul I as a prayerful gift. Following this, the traditional Many Years was proclaimed to the Vice-Rector of the Seminary and to all those celebrating their name day.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all on this great feast and on the conclusion of the Apostles’ Fast!
