5TH WEEK OF LENT: METROPOLITAN NESTOR CELEBRATED THE LITURGY IN THE CATHEDRAL

On April 6, the 5th week of Great Lent, St. Mary of Egypt, the Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun and Western Europe, celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great in the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Paris.
On the liturgy with his eminence served Secretary of the Korsun Diocesan Administration, Priest Maxim Politov, and the clergy of the cathedral: Archpriest Igor Trofim, Priest Georgy Sheshko, Priest Daniil Naberezhny, Deacon Roman Onika, Hierodeacon Dionisy (Volkov), and Deacon Vyacheslav Li.
At the minor entrance, by decree of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, for his zealous service to the Holy Church and for the feast of Christ’s Pascha, Priest Maxim was awarded the right to wear a priest’s cross with decorations.
After the communion verse, Priest Georgy read out the Patriarchal address on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the blessed death of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
After the Liturgy, the Patriarchal Exarch and the clergy who served with him sang the glorification of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, after which the bishop addressed those gathered in the church with words of explanation on the theme of the Sunday Gospel proclaimed during the Liturgy. Metropolitan Nestor also dedicated his homily to the life and personality of the holy Primate of the Russian Church, who blessedly ended his earthly journey 100 years ago.
