On Monday 19 October 2026, a celebration marking ten years since the opening of the Russian Spiritual and Cultural Orthodox Centre was held in the Centre’s amphitheatre. Our Holy Trinity Cathedral forms part of the Centre, and the cathedral clergy and parishioners took part in the celebration.

Among those present were Metropolitan Mark of Korsun and Western Europe, Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe, Metropolitan Nestor of Stupino, vicar bishop of the Diocese of Korsun, the heads and staff of the Russian Embassy in France, of the Spiritual and Cultural Centre, of the Centre for Science and Culture and of Russia’s representation to UNESCO, and figures from French cultural, academic and public life.

The evening opened with a documentary film about the opening of the Centre. Addresses were given by Artyom Studennikov, Director of the First European Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Alexander Zezyulin, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Russian Federation, and Metropolitan Mark.

A presentation of awards followed. Patriarchal certificates of merit were given to Alexander Zezyulin and to Vadim Sizonenko, head of the press service of the Russian Embassy in France. Anna Kotlova, director of the Centre, received the Order of St Olga, Equal-to-the-Apostles.

Distinctions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation were conferred on Metropolitan Mark, Metropolitan Nestor, and Priest Maxim Politov, secretary of the Korsun Diocesan Administration and key-keeper of our cathedral.

The musical part of the evening was given by the choir of Holy Trinity Cathedral under the direction of Marina Politova and by the ensemble Solisty Barokko.

The cathedral will mark its own anniversary on 4 December, ten years to the day since its consecration by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ in 2016. As a reminder, a concert of classical music has been arranged for the occasion and will take place on Friday 20 November at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but booking is required.
